Barbers Hill fighting to keep pace at the top of 8-5A Division 1, took on Kingwood Park Friday night.
First half, the Eagles up 21-7.....Cody Fuentes goes BOMBS AWAY on this pass and check out Landon Smith with the finger tip catch in stride....what a thing of beauty. That 65 yard pitch and catch put Barbers Hill up 28-7.
Later 2nd quarter, Fuentes waits for the blocking to be just right and then dumps it off to Brady Thompson who just gets inside the pilon. Eagles up 42-7.
But hang on. Beautiful play here by Kingwood Park. Jaxon Sims passes to Jayden Henderson, but they're running the hook and lateral as Henderson pitches it to Kyell Sheffield and Sheffield is gone. What a great play there, but it wouldn't help get them back in the game.
Fuentes with the screen to Keegan Morton and watch as the freshman makes just about every Panther defender miss as he zips and zaps all over the field for the incredible 33 yard touchdown run after reception. Barbers Hill wins 56-14.
