Angleton Vs. Fort Bend Hightower - 2019 Week 6 Football Highlights
Moving to class 5A now, 2-1 Angleton visiting Fort Bend Hightower Thursday evening.
Defense is the name of the game early on. It’s scoreless in the 2nd, when Angleton’s D comes up with a turnover. Anthony Jackson reels in the interception for the Wildcats and he has room to run. Jackson returns it across midfield, all the way down to the Hightower 34 yard line, that sets up an Angleton field goal for a 3-0 lead.
The Hurricanes respond as Hightower’s Trey Thomas takes the pitch on the jet sweep, he makes a man miss, and then watch him weave his way through traffic. Thomas takes it all the way, 47 yards for the touchdown, Hurricanes lead 7-3.
Late in the 2nd, Angleton’s Justus Mayon(may-on) looks deep downfield for Jaden Wall, and Wall hauls that pass in for a big 46 yard gain, that leads to another Wildcats field goal, and it’s 7-6 Hightower at halftime.
In the third, Hightower’s Jakolby Longino rolls left and fires for Jaylon Davis, Davis lunges across the goal line for the 8-yard touchdown, Hurricanes lead 13-6.
It’s 16-6 when Jacob Williams applies the pressure and Mayon loses the handle, Christian Hood falls on the loose ball for the Hightower recovery deep in Angleton territory.
The Hurricanes offense cashes it into points as Ronald Carroll punches it in from a yard out, and Hightower hangs on for a 23-20 win over Angleton.
