Adam Taylor, Katy High School-Chevrolet Male Athlete of the Year

They boast a long history of great backs, but Adam Taylor may be the best yet to walk through the halls of Katy high school. Gary Jospeh: I don't know if there's been a better one we've had some great running backs we've really had some kids who have stepped up and led our football time as far as everything combined. Adam Taylor: I definitely set the bar for the running backs glad I set the bar high. & Feels great obviously and if you work hard you can accomplish great things. Great things such as a school record 44 touchdowns this past season and nearly 2700 yards. And when that hard work is combined with 4.5 speed in a 6-2 200 plus pound frame, you find a running back with the unique ability to grind out tough yardage, or bust some long runs. The kid is not any where as good as he's gonna be. He refuses to lose and with him it's not about how many yards you're gonna get, it's about winning, and he's the type you want because he knows you have to put the team first. Taylor potentially could have broken all of the Katy career rushing records, but injured his knee early in his junior season, but similar to this years NFL MVP Adrian Peterson who coincidentally also wears #28 and is a highly decorated Texas High School Running Back, Adam returned in 2012 in a big way. It was definitely a lot on my shoulders people are always doubting me but I had to comeback and have a great season with my seniors. It was also vindication for being left with an empty feeling after not winning a title the previous two seasons despite putting up a 25-2 record. Adam is headed to Nebraska which is a good fit since they both wear red and they run the ball a lot, but more important is that he's already familiar playing in a program that has a storied tradition. It's a great school they run the ball, they were #7 in the country. I'm Working hard trying to get better everyday cause I am working hard to get the next level. He may be off to the Midwest, but the mark Adam has left at Katy won't soon be forgotten. It's what you expect once in a lifetime experience like to see some kids walk in his footsteps, I would expect them to be as good as Adam Taylor. I Couldn't do it without my teammates my offensive line it all comes with the territory of working hard everyday and having a great season. Congratulations to Adam Taylor the Chevrolet Male Athlete of the Year.
