2015 6A D-II State Championship - Katy Tigers vs Lake Travis Cavaliers

Our second Class 6-A game featured the Katy Tigers in their fourth straight title game, looking for their first Championship since 2012, the Cavaliers of Lake Travis standing in their way. Lake Travis driving on their first possession, but the Katy defense comes up with a stop like they have all year as J-R Blades gets the big interception. Tigers would turn it into a field on the other end. In the second, more from the Tigers defense. A bad snap by Lake Travis and the ball ends up in the hands of Katy's Paddy Fisher. Tigers with great field position after their second turnover. From there Kyle Porter takes the pitch to the near side and goes in for the first touchdown of the game. Katy up 10-0 Next drive for Lake Travis and another big play for the Katy defense as Charlie Brewer's pass goes right to Michael Matus and Matus returns it 43 yards for the score. Tigers go up 17-0 and look to be in total control. After a scoreless third quarter, Katy and Kyle Porter get on the board again. Another toss play and another touchdown for the Tigers. It's now a 24-7 game. Later in the fourth after Katy adds on a field goal Porter puts the nail in the coffin. He breaks off a big 45 yard touchdown run. Porter goes for over 200 yards and three scores on the night. As Katy wins it 34-7 to capture their record tying 8 state title.
