Wharton High School Boy's Basketball - Chevy Spotlight
Over the last few seasons, the Wharton Tigers have become a staple at the Regional Tournament. Fourth year Head Coach Matt Brown attributes it all to commitment. Implementing a new system can be tough, especially when the coach says he expects the program to be run like a college team. The Tigers say it was easy to buy in to what Coach Brown was selling and now they are seeing it pay off. The success is evident as the Tigers have won three straight district titles and advanced to the Regional Tournament every year. This season, with five seniors and twin brothers Josh and Tim Young, Wharton has their eyes on making history. If the trend continues Wharton could be appearing the in the school’s first state tournament. Congratulations to the Wharton basketball team for being this week’s Chevy Spotlight.
