Milby Girls Athletics Program - Highlights/Interviews - Chevy Spotlight

01/04/14

Let's not get carried away, ok maybe a little cause there's a lot to love about Milby these days. As a senior I want to get a good experience from my high school be able to tell my children we made playoffs, every team was good and to represent class of 2014 represent Milby well Milby opened in 1926, and there have been several proud moments throughout the school's history, but mainly on the boys side of things. It's the home of former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Donald Driver and the boys basketball team has won 2 state championships but rarely in its nearly 90 years of existence has there been so much success dealing with girls activities. The soccer team is vying for its 5th straight playoff berth after never reaching the postseason before. The swimming team is the reigning district champ, the volleyball team made the playoffs for the 2nd straight year, the basketball team is in contention for the playoffs all after lengthy dry spells, and the dance team and cheerleaders are competitive as well. Sound Full of Cheering... The season has been great, cheer wise great football season, placed 2nd in our recent lone star classic, love doing what we gotta do to bring a trophy back is awesome. I'm very proud we practice hard, ready to do it again hopefully. Hard work has been key, moving to 4A has helped in some cases, committed coaches, and the experience of some recent success have also made a difference add it up and the results have left a positive mark on the school. Before it wasn't the girls didn't have so much motivation, but we've learned to love it and the school body. The Milby Girls programs, this week's Chevy Spotlight.
