How talented is the Manvel football team? They even have a backup with a division one scholarship offer. In fact 13 players currently have D-1 offers with several more on the way. The Manvel football team should never have to wait for a ball, after all it seems like every kid in town is a ball boy which was part of Head Coach Kirk Martin’s plan when he started the Maverick program. One ball boy who is no longer on the sidelines, at least not physically is Landon Liptack who is also the son of Manvel principal Charlotte Liptack. Landon and his dad Larry died in a plane crash right before the beginning of the school year. There’s a memorial to Landon on the sidelines at every Maverick game, and the initials LL are on the team helmets. Charlotte Liptack lost her husband and 10 year old son, but she has dozens of new family members who have helped the grieving process. The Manvel Maverick Football Team, this weeks Chevy Spotlight.
