Rueben Owens has been on El Campo’s varsity team since he was a freshman and through his first two years he ran for a combined 23 hundred yards and 30 touchdowns. Very impressive numbers for a young back. However, this year…..his junior year...his numbers are out of this world. Through 12 games Owens has almost 28 hundred yards and 43 touchdowns on the ground and has the Ricebirds cruising in the post season. Big Rube is considered by some to be the best junior running back in the nation and has every college in the country knocking on his door.
