Danbury High School Cheerleaders - Chevy Spotlight
Sounds of cheering I’m proud of how we’ve worked hard to get to where we are. That's one way to put it, blasting onto the scene out of nowhere maybe more accurate. When Danbury won their American Cheer Power Christmas Championships it was the first competition in the school’s history. I’m trying to prepare them for the UIL pilot season, and was like if we win, we win if not at least we got some good experience. They blew me out of the water with the way they performed it was amazing and we’re blessed to be going to Nationals. Sounds of Coach Smith instructing the squad. Under the guidance of head coach Lindsey Smith and her assistant Stacy White who also happens to be her older sister the success has been fast but it hasn’t been easy. We’ve been working since the fall perfecting our routines and it’s been really hard work. Sounds of Cheer team singing school system. Danbury high school doesn't have a choir but the cheerleading team certainly keeps the harmony. Every year for tryouts they have to learn the school song. Once they get the hang of it they do well, but they have to memorize it. It shows that we don’t just care about the cheer, but also the school. In addition to the competitions and getting the crowd fired up at games, the squad also works hard away from the field. They support Breast Cancer Awareness month, and volunteer at the Brazoria County Special Kids day. I’m from Danbury, this is my hometown. I’m proud and I when I got to be a cheerleader it was like I got a bunch of new sisters and a new family. The Danbury Cheerleaders, this week’s Chevy Spotlight
