The Alief Taylor - Hastings matchup was supposed to be for 2nd and 3rd place, but after Eiswnhower had to forfeit 4 games the contest ended up being for the district 18-5A championship. Tight game in the first half, Kaylim Doster spots up for a long 2 and Taylor went into the break up 31-30. The Taylor cheerleaders and their understudies put on a show at half as the district championship was 16 minutes away. 5:15 to go in the 3rd quarter, Hastings Ekije Okeach almost behind his back, makes the layup and the two teams were neck and neck.
