Not too many quarterbacks in the area have the kinda of frame of Tigers gunslinger, Colby Powers. He’s 6 foot, 240 pound menacing quarterback that gives defensive coordinators long, sleepless nights trying to figure out ways to stop him. When Klein Collins is near the goal line, they just let him over “Power” the defense and force his way in the end zone. As a passer, Powers strong arm accounted for over 13 hundred yards and 7 touchdowns last year. The senior will be headed to Arizona to play tight end next year.
He’s on of the most electrifying quarterbacks in the Houston area. Katy Tompkins signal caller, Jalen Milroe, has helped turned the program into a winner. Last year he threw for almost 27 hundred yards and 29 touchdowns. Milroe is a dangerous dual threat because of the way he stays in the pocket longer than most q-b’s in able to let a big play develop. Jalen is the leader of a Falcons team that went to the regional semifinal last year and he hopes to lead them ever further this year before taking his talents to Alabama next year.
This week's MVP presented by grimaldispizzeria.com is Kyron Drones of Shadow Creek.
When you talk about Hightower receiver Latrell Neville, the first thing that comes to mind is his physical tools. His large frame allows Neville to be an easy target for any quarterback, but add to it his speed and you can see why Latrell is used in a variety of ways on the football field. He had an injury proned junior year, but he used the summer to get in top shape and is ready to prove why Nebraska got him to commit.
This week's MVP is Donovan Jackson of Bellaire Episcopal
